Happy New Year! January wallpaper is out!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had fabulous New Year’s Eve celebrations and that 2012 has been good so far. I wish you all the best in 2012.

In the meantime, January 2012 wallpaper is ready for you. I took that photo just a few days ago, during my short road trip along the coast of New South Wales, Australia. I visited some beautiful spots during this trip, but Stockton Beach, the one on the photo, was my favourite.

Stocktop Beach is located about 3h drive north from Sydney and it sits on the edge of the longest moving sand dune in the southern hemisphere. It is 35km (21.7 miles) long and it is truly impressive. The cool thing is that it is possible to drive on the dunes, but you need 4WD for that. We only had a small Toyota with us, but one thing is for sure – in the next couples of months I’ll be back to Stockton with bigger car to see the dunes and the beach in more details.

Those who do not feel like 4WDriving on the sand will have a variety of other attractions available to them – there are horse and camel rides, quads are available for hire and surfing lessons are on offer. Or you can just go for a swim.

So as I said I’ll be back and I’ll surely take lots of photos when I’m there. In the meantime enjoy the wallpaper.

December wallpaper is out

I am sorry I’m late with this month’s wallpaper! But here it is – amazing mountains of Ladakh, one of India’s most picturesque provinces. Ladakh is located in the north-western corner of India, in the Himalayas. What makes is different from the rest of India is that ethnically and culturally it is Tibetan.

November wallpaper is out

This month it’s the magical stupas of Bagan in Myanmar. The ruins of Bagan cover an area of 16 square miles (41 km2). The majority of its buildings were built in the 11th century to 13th century, during the time Bagan was the capital of the First Burmese Empire. Watching hundreds of stupas spread all around until the horizon, was an amazing experience. It’s one of those places I really want to visit again.

October wallpaper is out!

This month it’s Vanuatu, one of the most magical and spiritual places I have been to. Devoted Hindu people come to Varanasi from all over India to bath in the holly river of Ganga. I will be posting more photos from Varanasi some time soon, as it’s truly amazing place, but for now I am leaving you with this sunset view of the boats on the bank of Ganga.

September wallpaper is out!

It’s this time of the month – time for brand new wallpaper! This month it’s something that will probably make you want to drop everything and go on holidays. It’s a photo taken on a lovely beach in a small village of Port Orly in Vanuatu, a place I visited during my last holidays a few weeks ago. It’s a very simple photo, but I think you will get the feeling of what kind of place Vanuatu is :)

August wallpaper is out

I am going on holidays tomorrow, so August wallpaper is coming out a little bit earlier than usually, as I won’t have regular access to internet when I am on the road. Latest wallpaper features a photo taken during my trek around Annapurna in Nepal. This photo was taken from Poon Hill, one of the most picturesque places along the route. Every morning trekkers gather on the top of Poon Hill to admire the views of the snow covered peaks of Annapurna, Annapurna South, Machapuchare Hiunchuli and few other peaks.
